The Horse Lover's Miscellany (inbunden, eng)

Horses of all kinds helped build our roads, villages, towns, and cities. For centuries, they were virtually the only way to transport people and goods from place to place. They became part of our folklore and the subject of countless works of art. They went to war, tilled the land, brought in the harvest, carried us in sport, and today often play a central role in leisure and recreation.

The Horse Lover’s Miscellany: Wit, Wisdom and Wonders celebrates this rich history with a collection of fascinating, amusing, quirky, and practical information for weekend riders, aspiring and current horse owners, and enthusiastic equestrians alike.

The author explores a wide range of topics, from equine ancestry to equine epitaphs, from dressage and show jumping to carriage driving and plowing matches, as well as pony clubs, polo, and much more.

The result is an eclectic mix of facts, moving stories of endurance in the harshest conditions, eccentricities, quotes, amusing anecdotes, and “I never knew that” snippets from both past and present.
