This volume presents five articles relating to military studies in the context of Macedonia of the Antigonids. Combining literary studies and archaeological research, the author proposes several new concepts on Hellenistic Macedonian military studies. Originally conceived as separate journal articles supporting a more general publication on the Macedonian army of Alexander the Great, it became clear it would be more useful and valuable to publish the articles together in one volume as they closely reference each other.
Articles consider the Macedonian phalanx, Antigonid Redcoats, heavy infantry and defensive weaponry under the following headings: I. Deux nouvelles armes défensives de l’époque hellénistique.
