Morning (häftad, eng)

Morning by Kevin Wraight is a compelling exploration of the military and strategic significance ‎of France during World War II.

This richly detailed narrative takes readers through the pivotal ‎moments of the war, from the German Blitzkrieg and the evacuation at Dunkirk to the D-Day ‎landings and the liberation of France by the Allies. ‎

In part one, Fall Gelb, Kevin offers a critical examination of the French and British military ‎strategies, highlighting the failures of outdated tactics, the ineffective reliance on the Maginot ‎Line, and the lack of Allied coordination against the swift and decisive German Panzer ‎divisions.‎

In part two, Overlord, just as in part one an in-depth study is made of the opposing forces, ‎tactics and strategies giving an impartial history of events.

The book also delves into the ‎political and social factors that contributed to the French defeat, such as the pacifist mindset ‎after World War I and the disunity among the Allies. Kevin contrasts the French and British ‎approaches with the German strategies that emphasised speed, surprise, and innovation.

‎

Morning is not just a non-fictional retelling but a thought-provoking analysis that emphasises ‎the lessons learned from two of the most important campaigns in one of history's most ‎significant conflicts.
